Abstract Art
My work comes from a love of beautiful things, unique objects, furniture, and modern architectural design. Traveling to new places, trying new foods, experiencing live music, and having an unexpected adventure are some of the things I love most. When a successful painting happens, it is due to the process and decisions I am making in the moment and my reaction and sensitivity to what the paint is doing in front of me. There will always be a space for traditional painting methods, observational painting, and color theory, but something truly profound happens once you decide to get rid of the paint brush— the paint is the subject, the mind is your brush, and the surface is the stage that it all plays out on.
